A drifter/surfer type named Jack Ryan (Owen Wilson) makes his way to Hawaii and ends up working for a wealthy judge. He gets mixed up with a beautiful woman (Sara Foster) who tries to convince him to steal a fortune, which would cause him to compromise various loyalties.
