    Too Much Into the Blue?
For the most part Into the Blue serves up exactly what it was promising all along: two attractive actors (Jessica Alba and Paul Walker) who look very firm and tan while wearing as little clothing as possible. Sure, there's an excuse for all of this swimming around with a plot involving buried treasure and a sunken plane full of coke, but while I was actually enjoying the story for what it was, eventually something occurred to me: HOW LONG is this thing? When I'm watching a movie in which Jessica Alba is barely clothed and yet I'm still asking this question, that's a pretty solid indication that it's too long.

It turns out Into the Blue runs closer to 2 hours than an hour-and-a-half, which any sensible person knows is far too long for any movie starring Paul Walker. Don't get me wrong, Walker serves his purpose and is far more likable than many other actors of his ilk, but c'mon... Someone tell director John Stockwell that he's not going to lose any great scenes with Pacino or De Niro in a movie like this, so get the scissors out and do some cutting.

    A New Approach
After a nice little break I've decided to resume my updates here on moovees.com, but with a slightly different approach. Here's the truth: I've come to dislike writing movie reviews for the same reason I usually dislike reading movie reviews: they're usually too long and spend too much time rehashing the plot and characters (there are exceptions, of course). So... moving forward you can expect more updates and a lot of mini reviews where I'll simply give a brief take on a film or DVD and cut straight to the chase.
